The Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research at University College Dublin organised a series of three, one-day focus groups from February 2019 to June 2020 with the aim of inputting into the development of a Breast Cancer Treatment Plan. Patients/survivors were involved in the organisation of the focus groups as scribes and facilitators. Focus group participants were provided with an explanation of the project and guidance on the role of focus group participants.
The project was completed in partnership with the patient advocacy group, EuropaDonna Ireland. The public and/or patient representatives were identified through a public advertisement process and based on nominations received from the patient organisation.
