The National Care Experience Programme (NCEP) seeks to improve the quality of health and social care services in Ireland by asking people about their experiences of care and acting on their feedback. It is a joint initiative by the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA), the Health Service Executive (HSE) and the Department of Health. The public and/or patient representatives on the NCEP Steering Group are engaged for a period of three years, and representatives on the NCEP Programme Boards for a period of one year.
The NCEP Steering Group includes three patient and/or public representatives. The National Inpatient Experience Survey programme board and the National Maternity Experience Survey programme board both include two PPI representatives each.
